Q- What is minimum wind velocity that will move Hypnartic wind art?

A – Our Double Spinning Leaves wind sculpture will begin to turn at 3 to 4 mph, at this slow pace the arms and leaves give a very kaleidoscopic effect. We use very expensive sealed bearings and match each set of leaves by weight so one side will not be heavier than the other. By insuring each arm and leave are close in weight we are able to get our sculpture to turn in very modest winds. We also have designed each leave with a slight cantor to it so in very high winds it will spill some of the wind. This keeps our sculptures from wildly spinning like a pin wheel and continuing to deliver a visual treat.

Q – Do I have to remove the wind sculpture during high winds?

A – No; if installed properly using the supplied anchor and inserting the lowerpole one foot into the ground, the sculpture can withstand winds up to 50 miles per hour. In winds in excess of 50 mph, we recommend removing the upper portion of the sculpture.

Q – How can I maintain the shiny copper finish?

A – We suggest using an automobile cleaner/wax combination polish. A quick polish every couple of years should suffice. We do not recommend a clear spray coating; this will begin to flake off in a few years and the balance will be very difficult to remove.

Q – Can I leave the sculpture outside all year long?

A – Yes; Hypnartic sculptures are designed to withstand extreme temperatures and will not be harmed by snow, rain or extreme heat.

Q – Do I have to grease or lubricate any part of the sculpture?

A – No; our sculptures are maintenance free. The multiple bearings that allow the sculptures to turn are permanently sealed and do not need lubrication.
